Blue Mountain | Single Vineyard Chardonnay Program

The idea of single block wines at Blue Mountain is not new. We have been tasting the wines in this manner for many years as we blended them into our estate and reserve cuvées, but in recent years our winemaking process, the business, and the vines themselves have all matured to a point where sharing these single vineyard wines with you is possible.

By focusing on what makes each single vineyard block unique, these wines offer a different taste of what you have come to know as Blue Mountain. Each wine is a unique expression of its own site within our estate, yet distinctly a Blue Mountain Chardonnay.

Blossom Slope BLK 17 Chardonnay

A westerly exposure for Block 17 creates a warm site for the 30-year-old vines, the basis for Blossom Slope - a lively, floral, and elegant wine. Coarse and loamy sand play on the minerality of the wine, creating an energetic, well-integrated layered structural finish.

Clonal Selection: 76, 95 and 96

Vine Age: 33 year old

Alluvium Reflection BLK 32 Chardonnay

Planted in 1990, Block 32 is fondly referred to as “The Fan”. The vines are westerly facing, catching the later morning and afternoon sun, and surrounding rock mass plays a role in heat retention at night. The mineral deposit and mainly gravel soil add to the strength and ease of Alluvium Reflection.

Clonal Selection: 76 and 96

Vine Age: 34 year old
