History

The Mavety’s have been the fortunate stewards of the land that comprises Blue Mountain Estate for almost 50 years. In 1991, Ian and Jane Mavety, cellared the first vintage of Blue Mountain wines beginning a tradition of terroir driven wines reflective of this wonderful place in the Okanagan Valley.

“During 45 years of owning and growing grapes at Blue Mountain, from founding winemaker Ian Mavety. To our current winemaker Matt Mavety, our family has recognized one key thing – that our South Okanagan vineyard microclimate is a dream for creating a particular style and quality of cool climate wine. Our site delivers wine with great minerality and acidity with a fruit freshness offset by a unique, cellar-worthy richness that can only be described as Blue Mountain”
